Roving Reporter Tom Pell sent us this review and seeing as we’re always happy to post well written articles, we’ve posted it up here.

Picture yourself at around seven years old, young and fresh faced, bouncing out of the cinema after being blown away by Toy Story. Got it? Good, because this has to be the same emotion that children today feel when the 106 minutes of Ratatouille come to a close.

Remy is our lovable lead, choosing a life as a Rodent Ramsay above the garbage gourmet of his colony. When his inquisitive nature causes a change of housing, he loses his way and ends up on the streets of Paris in search of his hero – Chef Auguste Gusteau. Since his death, Gusteau’s restaurant has lost its way and is clearly, obviously in need of a bumbling illegitimate heir being played like a marionette by a small rat. Remember, after all, this is Disney. Linguini is our puppet; nervous, heavy handed and talentless, the perfect foil for Remy’s focus, enthusiasm, and lack of dexterity. Together they form a brilliant partnership and set out to restore Gusteau’s greatness. But of course we have a villain in the piece, the snappy, short, bitter head chef – Skinner. Skinner is onto Linguini from the start, but almost succumbs to madness in the pursuit of our elusive puppeteer.

But does he ever come close? Will Linguini turn Gusteau’s around? Can Remy become France’s answer to Jamie Oliver? Well, I’m afraid these are things you will and should have to find out for yourself.
