Jumper

by Crafu on May 18, 2009

Young Darth (Hayden Christian) learns to teleport at as a child and sets about taking whatever he wants from the world around him. Happy to travel at the speed of thought until a white haired Sam “The Man” Jackson and his electric whippy stick thing, catch up with him. Oh yeah and Billy Elliot pops up too, with a dodgy Scottish(?) accent.

Loads of flash effects, interesting if slightly muddled action sequences and some pretty stunning locations don’t quite make up for a script with more holes in it than moth eaten cardigan.

Characters pop up and then disappear without any real reason. What happens to Billy? Is he dead? Who knows or cares as it’s on to the next CGI spectacular.

Some other warblings about a possible back story involving Paladins / Jumpers and the Middle Ages, but we’ve no time for that rubbish. Although, it’s clearly setup for a sequel, which may or may not be a bad thing.

Enjoyable, untaxing eye candy, just don’t expect to remember a bit of it.
