An Inconvenient Truth

We watch a lot of movies . Some good, some great, most of them are average but occasionally some fall into the WOW category.

This film is very easily in the latter category.

That’s a rare thing for us to say about any film, no less about a documentary.

But “An Inconvenient Truth” if quite simply one of the best films we’ve ever seen.

It takes what is very often a dry (no pun intended) subject, regarding what to many is an over publicised topic, and breaks it down into subjects easy for all to understand. What’s more incredible about this, is that the film makers manage this without ever dumbing down the material, or patronising the audience.

Showing what seems to be irrefutable evidence to back up his case, Al Gore takes us on a trip from the past, through the present and onto the future.

We have to admit, a lot of it doesn’t make for comfortable viewing. But this is where “An Inconvenient Truth” stands head and shoulders above other documentaries on the same subject. At no point in the proceedings do you feel hopeless. There’s no tub thumping and finger pointing here. Simply the facts laid out in a clear concise manner and an urging for you to make your own mind up. It even goes , pointing out that the problems we’re facing on a global scale today are solvable. And solvable, using techniques we already have at our finger tips.

It’s a resounding wake up call, even for us hardened couch potatoes. Every person should see this film. So rent it or buy it today and show it to everyone you know.
